Mission Statement

At RentMaine.ME, our mission is to make housing more accessible and stress-free for Mainers. We bridge the gap between renters and landlords by providing a simple, affordable platform that helps tenants find homes and landlords connect with qualified applicants. By offering this service at little to no cost, we aim to create meaningful solutions for Maine’s housing challenges—one rental at a time.

I have been a tenant and I am a landlord. I understand the challenges of finding quality, affordable housing in our state. RentMaine.ME was born from a desire to help my neighbors navigate the rental market with ease while ensuring landlords find responsible tenants.

I believe that by removing unnecessary barriers, consolidating leads, streamlining funnels, as well as qualifying tenants and landlords that we can make a real difference in our communities. This isn’t just a business—it’s a way to give back and contribute to solving Maine’s housing issues in a meaningful way.

Key Goals Ahead

🏡 Building a Comprehensive Listing Database – We will actively reach out to local landlords advertising on platforms like Facebook, Craigslist, Zillow, and other rental sites to gather and showcase available listings. Guests can browse these listings for free while learning about additional services we offer.

📋 Providing Tenant Support Services – Beyond just listing rentals, we will assist tenants with the search process by:

  • Scouting for rentals that meet their needs

  • Creating a "rental résumé" to strengthen applications

  • Handling communication with landlords to schedule showings and secure leases

🤝 Expanding Our Network – We will collaborate with property management companies, apartment complexes, and rental agencies to ensure we provide a comprehensive overview of available housing options.

⚖ Tenant & Landlord Education – We aim to partner with Pine Tree Legal to educate both renters and landlords about their rights and responsibilities. Eventually, we will launch a newsletter covering important legislative updates that impact the rental market.

🌍 Supporting Language Accessibility – We recognize that language barriers can make securing housing difficult. Our goal is to introduce services for individuals who do not speak English as their first language, helping them navigate lease agreements and rental communications more effectively.
